Let’s travel back to Wickenburg this weekend and do another fun and historical Adventure. On this trip we will stop at several mines and visit the remnants of an old homestead that surprisingly weathered the test of time, followed by an optional visit to Vulture City Ghost Town. This is a great opportunity for a family friendly trip. Bring your kids, your grand kids, or your neighbor’s kids, just don’t let them fall into mineshafts 😊

This is an awesome trail perfect for both novice and experienced drivers alike. Most of the trail is pretty easy traversing hard packed dirt and gravel. A few rocky and narrow sections with possible ruts and washouts give this trail a BLUE rating. The narrowness of this trail means that AZ pinstriping is highly likely. In the beginning of the trail, we will cross Hassayampa River. The river is dry most of the year but with all the rain we’ve been getting lately, we might be in for a pleasant surprise and will get a chance to play in the water. This adventure is suitable for any Jeep with offroad tires.

The trail is approximately 15 miles loop and should take us 3 to 4 hours to complete. If everything goes according to plan, we should be back by 2:00 PM or so, just in time to visit the optional Vulture City Ghost Town which is about 25 minutes drive from the trailhead. The $15 admission fee is well worth the entertainment value for both kids and adults alike. Check out the video below and see for yourself:
