We’ll spend the weekend in Sedona enjoying fun and scenic trails…..hopefully before the first snow hits. This will be a two-day Adventure starting Saturday morning and wrapping up Sunday late afternoon. You can choose to come out on Saturday, Sunday or do both days. Please make sure to post in the comments if you’re only spending one day with us!!!

Most of the trails are red and rated somewhere between 3-5. There aren’t any major rock crawling obstacles, just long and steep up/down hills that are either slick or loose rock with numerous rutted out sections. Gladiators should have at least 35 inch tires and 2+ inch lifts. Stock 2 door/4door Jeeps can make it with careful tire placement. At least one locker would be highly beneficial ESPECIALLY on the Skeleton Bones trail but not required.

We have booked the Hilton Sedona Summit Grand Vacation for Saturday night November 12th but will cancel and camp instead if the weather is cooperative. Unlike most hotels in Sedona, Hilton let’s you cancel as late as 2 days in advance without paying cancellation fees. Sedona hotels are pricey, the alternative is to stay in Flagstaff for a fraction of the cost but will require 30+ minutes commute.

These will be long 2 days so please make sure to bring enough food & drinks and top off your fuel tank each day.

SATURDAY:
Meetup point: 10:00 AM House Mountain Trailhead.

We will begin our Adventure with a trip up to House Mountain. This is a relatively easy trail taking us to the top of the mountain of over 1,200 feet for some of the most amazing views of Sedona. The hardest part is coming back via a long steep hill that we may bypass altogether depending on trail conditions. The trail is expected to take around 3 hours.

We will complete the day with Soldier’s Pass. This is a short, fun, and memorable trail with a scenic stop at the Seven Sacred Pools. The trail is limited to 12 Jeeps and I have purchased the pass for us already so no need to obtain your own!

SUNDAY:
Meetup point: 10:00 AM TBD

We will start the morning with the Broken Arrow trail. This is a short and fun trail that should take us a little over an hour to complete. It’s also the busiest one in all of Sedona so hopefully, it will be less crowded early in the morning. The most difficult part is a short but steep downhill section known as “The Steps”

The next trail we will conquer is called Skeleton Bones. The trail itself is about six miles of steep, long but FUN hills. This trail can also be completed within an hour or so. I may switch this trail to something easier if too many Jeeps in the group are without lockers!
YOUTUBE VIDEO Skeleton Bones section starts about 7 minutes into the video.

The end of Skeleton Bones will take us directly into the trailhead of Red Rock Powerline. I have personally never done this trail before, but it looks fun and exciting! This trail should take about 2 hours or so to complete before we all part ways and head back.
