Texas Badge of Honor Adventure

March 26, 2023 - April 2, 2023

In the continued pursuit of the elusive Badges of Honor, we will travel and complete all 3 trails in the Great State of Texas Ya’ll!!! This is a week-long Adventure combining off-roading, hiking, camping and just having fun outdoors. Itinerary as follow:

Bridgeport, TX
Arrival: March 26th
Departure: March 28th
Arrive at the Northwest OHV Park near Lake Bridgeport. Lake Bridgeport is a popular outdoor getaway weekend destination for Dallas Suburbia but should be relatively empty during the week. We will spend 2 nights here exploring the area and off-roading in the OHV park. There are tons of hiking trails around and some of the best bass fishing in Texas.

Austin, TX
Arrival: March 28th
Departure: March 30th
Arrive Tuesday March 28th in Austin Texas, home of live music, beautiful scenery, great weather, and the most amazing BBQ in the world! We will spend 2 nights here visiting Hidden Falls Adventure Park. We may offroad one day or both, depending on how much fun we’re having. We’ll be right next door to beautiful Horseshoe Bay.

Big Bend National Park, TX

We will arrive at the Big Bend National Park on March 30th. Amazing scenery, numerous hiking trails, hot springs, and river kayaking are some of the attractions in the area. Of course, we will also complete the Black Gap Badge of Honor Trail on Saturday April 1st. On Sunday we will part company and head out our separate ways, wishing that we had more time to enjoy the Adventure!

ALLTRAILS Description

I understand that some people are not willing to drive long distances to complete the entire Adventure. As such, you have a choice of joining either the Austin/Bridgeport Adventure, Big Bend Adventure, or both. Just let us know in the comments below.

In the OHV parks we expect to cover trails on the 4 to 6 difficulty levels. For Gladiators, 2.5 inch lift and 35 inch tires are highly recommended. Black Gap trail in Big Bend is relatively easy and is suitable for any stock Jeep.

The dates for this trip are set in stone. Covid infection, Jeep breakdown, or World War 3 are probably the only three things that will force me to cancel this trip. Therefore, if you plan on attending, please go ahead and book your reservations now, especially in Big Bend which tends to sell out quickly. In all 3 areas we will be visiting, there is camping, RV spots and hotels/cabins for you to choose from.

This Adventure is open to anyone outside of Valley Gladiators club that owns a Jeep. I will be posting the event on Facebook, Instagram and various forums to gain participants.
