Death Valley Adventure
October 17, 2024 @ 7:00 pm - October 23, 2024 @ 7:00 am MST
If you own a Jeep and haven’t done any of the Death Valley offroad trails than this trip is a must for you and is well worth the vacation time to spend it on! From narrow slot canyons and rugged peaks to salt flats and sand dunes, the extreme topography of Death Valley offers dramatic sublime scenery, and humbling silence. If rain is plentiful, wildflowers will be incredible. Enjoy stunning views from cliff face trails as much of the valley floor is below sea-level and the surrounding mountain trails that we’ll be driving on rise to nearly 6,000 ft.
This is a trip I have made dozens of times and I plan on being in the valley for about one week this time. You can join us for the whole time or stay as long as you like. There are many trails in Death Valley and we will determine which trails to run based on their conditions when we arrive.
Below is the list of trails that we will pick from:
Echo and Hole in the Wall Canyons – Inyo Mine, Chloride Cliffs , Indian Mine, Titus Canyon, Ubehebe Crater, Race Track Playa, Mosaic Canyon, Scotties Castle (if open), Cottonwood and Marble Canyons, Agueberry Point – Skidoo – Charcoal Kilns, Zabriski Point, Dantes View, Warm Springs Canyon, Artist Drive – Devils Golf Course , Badwater (lowest point in North America), Keen Wonder Mine, Natural Bridge, Darwin Falls, Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes, Eureka Dunes, and more.
From Dantes View you can see both the lowest and highest points in North America on a clear day. Some days will be mostly driving, and some will be about half driving and hiking. Hiking will involve some slot canyons, open alluvial fans, and easy boulder and rock face scrambling. Each day we will plan the next day’s activities. Offroad driving will be easy to moderate, any stock Jeep with offroad tires will work well.
We will be arriving on Thursday October 17th and departing Wednesday October 23nd with 5 off-roading days in-between.
IMPORTANT!!! Many of the trails are currently still closed due to flooding from last year but should be open by October. To be safe, please book accommodations with generous cancellations policies!!!
Furnace Creek is centrally located so that daily trips can be made from there without the necessity of moving camp. Full commercial services including limited groceries, fuel, dining, a bar, lodging, golf, and most importantly a thermally heated swimming pool are available at Furnace Creek. Also, up-scale dining and lodging are available at the nearby Furnace Creek.
We will be camping at Furnace Creek Campground (-200 ft elevation) which has some sites with full hookups for RV’s. Dry camping and tent camping is also available with onsite bathroom facilities.
Furnace Creek campground reservations open 6 months in advance and tend to fill up quickly! Please book yours ASAP!

If you don’t want to camp and Furnace Creek lodge is too expensive, the town of Beatty, NV is a cheap alternative, just be prepared to drive ~ 50 miles each way to/from Furnace Creek every day.
