Bloody Basin Road
May 4, 2024 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm MST
Today’s Adventure will take us on a fun and long trail that ascends nearly 5,000 feet traversing Agua Fria National Monument offering a reprieve from the summer heat with amazing views over the Valley . This also happens to be the very first inaugural trail that we went on as Valley Jeepsters in September of 2022. I’m looking forward to reliving the memory, although I’m hoping we’ll have more than 4 people this time 😊
While on the trail we will explore the ancient Indian ruins at Pueblo La Plata and stop for lunch at the scenic Sheep Bridge. We will exit in Cave Creek instead of going back to I17. This will be a long day with nearly 40 miles of off-roading! Please make sure to bring enough food & drinks and top off your fuel tank!
This is an easy and well maintained trail, perfect for any skill level and any Jeep with off-road tires. There is a 10 miles or so section that is very rocky and bumpy. The trail can also be extremely dusty so running topless and door-less is not recommended.
Please note that we’re switching to our summer schedule and will be starting the trail at 9:00 AM sharp!
As always, please arrive with a full tank of gas at the designated meeting spot and be ready for a prompt departure. If you’re running late, please let us know by posting or messaging in the Meetup App. If your plans change and you’re unable to attend, please promptly remove yourself from the event so that others on the standby list can take your place.
