Let’s take our Jeeps off road for a fun filled day on a remote and challenging trail. On this Adventure we will conquer Turkey Creek. This trail, also referred to as “Dead Cow Gulch” by the ol’ timers, will take us over the foothills and through the Black Canyon. There are quiet a few creek crossings on this trail so we may even get our tires wet.

The same trail will be run on both Saturday and Sunday to safely accommodate as many people as possible on this Adventure. Russ will be leading the first group on Saturday, March 2nd and Todd will be leading the second group on Sunday March 3rd. Please sign up for ONLY ONE GROUP! Anyone that signs up for both groups WILL BE PROMPTLY REMOVED including standbys!!!!

This trail is rated RED due to a short, 1 mile or so difficult and rocky section that will be slow going requiring careful tire placement. There is also one very sharp, narrow, difficult, and off camber turn that can be a challenge for novice off-roaders. I’ve done this trail at least half a dozen times by now and would still not attempt this turn without a spotter. Most important thing here is to follow directions from your spotter precisely or you could end up having a very bad day.

Upon completion of the trail, there will be an optional stop at the Cleator Bar to discuss the day over a few drinks and appetizers.

The trail can be conquered in a stock 2 door and 4 door Jeeps with off road tires. For Gladiators, 2.5-inch lift and 35’ tires are highly recommended. The trail is around 11 miles and should take us approximately 5 hours to complete if everything goes according to plan. We do not offer any guarantees, explicit or implied as to when we will return to the pavement 😊
